Who doesn’t love a family day out feeding cute animals and having some fun on farm-based rides and amusements?
Below we’ve listed eight of our favourite farms dotted along the southern coast,
some traditional and some a little more unusual, but all providing a great day out.

Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park
Edmondsham Road, Verwood, Dorset, BH21 5RJ
Being one of the last heavy horse parks remaining, visiting Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park is a rare and unique day out for the whole family. The park provides an entertaining and educational experience, and is recognised as both a family attraction and conservation centre for over 20 rare breed Heavy Horses. Enjoy scenic drawn carriage rides, captivating talks, play areas for the little ones, tractor rides, plus much more!
Easton Farm Park
Pound Corner, Easton, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP13 0EQ
Easton Farm Park was built in the late 1800s and has been a Farm Park since 1974, offering a unique mix of farm fun set within the Suffolk countryside and a set of listed historic buildings. Explore the 30 acre Green Trail, enjoy seeing all the animals, and let the younger ones burn off some energy in the play areas. The Farm Park is great whatever the weather, as they also have an indoor play area for the kids and a café where you can sit back and relax. If you love lambs and baby animals, a visit in the Spring is definitely a must.
Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park
Wareham Road, Organford, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6EU
This Farm Park is great for all the family, and particularly those with children under the age of 8. There is so much to do come rain or shine, including a soft play zone, little farmer’s fun barn, a sand playground, inside and outside bouncy castles, a fun maze, and even piggy racing! There’s also a restaurant onsite should you feel a bit peckish after all that farm fun!
Fishers Adventure Farm Park
Newpound Lane, Wisborough Green, West Sussex, RH14 0EG
A family run park set in the beautiful Sussex countryside, Fishers Adventure Farm Park offers a huge selection of exciting rides, indoor soft play, farm animals, and so much more. It’s jam-packed with so many fun activities for all the family to enjoy come rain or shine. They even host a family panto at Christmas time, as well as their popular Splash Attack in the summer. The Farm Park is open for 363 days of the year, so you can enjoy some farm fun all year long!
Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park

There’s fun for all ages at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park, including animal experiences, adventure play, educational talks, an outback safari, animal feeding, and so much more! Jimmy’s Farm is a truly unique experience for the whole family, and we’re confident there is something to suit everyone. They also have a restaurant and tea room serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, and make sure to check out their gift shop which is just bursting with delicious goodies.

If you love seeing lots of different species of animals, then you’ll love Old Macdonald’s Farm! Here you’ll find not only the usual farm favourites but some exotic animals too, including wallabies and fallow deer. The park is also packed with family rides and amusements, plus an indoor soft play area, should the great British weather take a soggy turn!
Pennywell Farm

Situated in South Devon with views over Dartmoor National Park, Pennywell Farm brings you not only a fun day out, but a scenic one too! Quince Honey Farm

A slightly different type of farm, Quince Honey Farm provides a fun and educational day out for those interested in bee keeping (or just the honey!) Enjoy expert talks, guided tours, beekeeping and honey-tasting at this unique attraction, and even purchase some of the products made and sold there, including honey (of course), chutney, marmalade, and even candles, skincare products and textiles. Un-bee-lievable!
