Port Lympne Animal Park

Port Lympne is home to over 700 animals (including the only giraffe in Kent!) and have regular animal births, and additional species coming in every year, meaning there are always new animals for you to meet. Canterbury Cathedral

Founded in 597, Canterbury Cathedral is one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures in England, showcasing an abundance of history behind each stained glass window. The spectacular building houses many beautiful features including a perpendicular nave and a Romanesque crypt.

Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway

Founded in 1975, the railway was built from scratch by a group of friends primarily as a hobby. Now, there are around 20 acres of parkland and woodland to explore, ideal for a family picnic. 

Canoe Wild

Another water-based attraction to “wet” your appetite. Canoe Wild offers a fun and memorable experience on the River Stour for all abilities: beginners, groups, and families are all welcome. Canoeing is a gentle outdoor activity, but don’t worry if you’re a canoe novice as their friendly, experienced coaches are on hand to help.

Single and double kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are also available to hire, so feel free to mix it up! The river offers lots of stunning photo opportunities, ideal for that all important holiday snap to show your friends what a great time you’re having! Diggerland

Jump in the driver’s seat of actual diggers, dumpers and other full-sized construction machinery at Diggerland - the supersize adventure for every kid who’s simply mad for machinery! But if the machinery’s not your thing, fear not, as there are 20 thrilling rides to explore including Spindizzy, Groundshuttle, Go-Karts and Dodgems to name just a few.

Romney, Hyth & Dymchurch Railway

When the line first opened in 1927, it covered only the eight miles between Hythe and New Romney and became famous for people wanting to ride on the ‘Smallest Public Railway in the World’. These days it’s just under 14 miles long and runs from Hythe, via Dymchurch down to New Romney. With seven stations along the way, there are plenty of places to stop off and enjoy some coastal sunshine and grab a bite to eat at the many cafes and restaurants on offer.

Eastchurch Aviation Museum

This museum is perfect for those interested in the history of aviation, particularly that of the Isle of Sheppey. Situated on the site of RAF Station Eastchurch, the museum has a Memorials Register with a list of approximately 1650 men and women who lost their lives in the 20th century on Sheppey, and are remembered on Island Memorials and graves.

Dreamland Margate

And last, but certainly not least, we have 'Dreamland', located in the traditional seaside town, Margate. The amusement park’s site originally opened way back in 1880, although wasn’t named 'Dreamland' until 1920. The park has had a huge £25m investment just 3 years ago, which included new rides, a new food court and bar, and arguably most importantly, a music venue with a 15,000 capacity.

'Dreamland' also holds a number of events throughout the year for all ages, and hosts many famous musicians, DJs, and comedians. In 2018, Gorillaz held their first festival, Demon Dayz, at the amusement park, and tickets sold out in 32 minutes! There really is something for everyone to enjoy at 'Dreamland', so go and make a day of it!
